Census Profile

The Profile presents information from the 2021 Census of Population for various levels of geography. Users can search for an area of interest by typing its place name, postal codeOM or geographic code or by browsing a list.

Data tables

This series of cross-tabulations presents a portrait of Canada based on the various census topics. It ranges in complexity and is available for various levels of geography.

Highlight tables

Highlight tables provide information highlights by topic via key indicators for various levels of geography. The tables allow users to perform simple rank and sort functions.

Indigenous Population Profile

This product presents information from the Census of Population focusing on the Indigenous identity population of various geographic areas.

Public Use Microdata File (PUMF): Hierarchical

This product provides access to non-aggregated data covering a sample of Canadian households. The file enables the study of individuals in relation to their census families, economic families and households. This comprehensive file is an excellent tool for policy analysts, pollsters, social researchers and anyone interested in modelling and performing statistical regression analysis using 2021 Census microdata.

Availability1: Winter 2023-24.

Public Use Microdata File (PUMF): Individual

This product provides data on the characteristics of the Canadian population. The file contains a sample of anonymous responses to the 2021 Census questionnaire. This comprehensive tool is excellent for policy analysts, pollsters, social researchers and anyone interested in modelling and performing statistical regression analysis using the census.

Note 7: Historical datasets

A multi-census-year portal is available providing users with streamlined access to selected datasets from 1981 to 2016 Census of Population as well as the 2011 National Household Survey.

Note 8: PUMF supporting documentation

This product contains user documentation and supporting information, all licence agreements; and SAS, SPSS and Stata program source codes to enable users to read the set of records.
