Quick Tutorial for the Census Program Data Viewer
Change map styling
In this tutorial, we will go over the steps needed to change the map styling.
What to do
- Click the "I want to" menu.
Click "Change map styling."
You will be presented with various styling options:
- Colour gradient: This will set the colour pallet to positive classes.
- Negative colour gradient: This will set the colour pallet to negative classes.
- Method: This will set the class break algorithm (Equal interval, Natural breaks, Quantile).
- Breaks: This will set the number of classes displayed on the map.
- Change class breaks: You can modify the categories shown on the map by changing the top value of a range. The first range on the map is displayed as >=x.x to <=y.y. The higher ranges are shown as >x.x to <=y.y. Changing other options will reset any custom breaks.
- Once you have made all the desired changes, click "Apply."
- To reset the map to its original setting, click the "Reset map" button at the bottom of the map.
